A family favourite has returned to the North Shore! We’re excited to welcome back The Keg Steakhouse + Bar to the exterior of Park Royal South, located near Michael Kors and Kate Spade New York. We sat down with the General Manager Bill Modrovic, to find out why this gem of a restaurant will be at the top of your dining list.
What makes the design of this Keg unique from the old one?
The original Park Royal Keg was warm and rustic; it had rough cedar walls, lit dimly by pools of amber light hovering over each of the tables. These iconic elements along with our savoury dishes and welcoming staff was what made the Keg a home away from home. The new Park Royal Keg is sleek, sophisticated, modern and bright. Located on the second floor, the highlight of the new location is a 92-seat patio that overlooks the Park Royal shopping mall.
Why is it important for The Keg to have a presence on the North Shore?
The first Keg was built in North Vancouver in 1971. It became an iconic steakhouse trademarked by great food, lively atmosphere, and friendly and knowledgeable service. Since the North Vancouver Keg’s closure, residents of the North Shore and West Vancouver community have been nostalgic for the unmistakable Keg spirit that is felt immediately upon entering our restaurants.
What can customers expect at the new location?
In addition to comfortable atmosphere, quality food, great value and excellent service, guests can expect to enjoy their favourite Keg classics, as well as some new menu additions, in a contemporary new build. Our new Cocktail Hour program includes daily food and drink features and is available both early evening and late night. The perfect way to end the day or to get your evening started. While the visual appearance of Kegs today is more contemporary, the core values have remained. The Keg still provides a neighborhood feeling, where guests can relax and be themselves. Our restaurant is energized by our welcoming staff, who continue to go above and beyond for every guest to make each Keg experience a memorable one.
