Fall Drinks at Park Royal

Published in Dining

We want to help you make September a little more warm and cozy or should we say… spicy! Pumpkin spice that is. When it comes to fall-themed drinks, Park Royal has got the goods! Imagine yourself walking through The Village at Park Royal, it’s a sunny afternoon, the air is crisp and you can smell the cinnamon and nutmeg in the steam coming from your drink while you hold it with both hands close to your face …mmm what a perfect fall day!
We went around to a few of our favourite cafés and learned about their seasonal drinks for September. Read on to discover where to find your favourites for this time of year!

 Delany’s Coffee
We tried: Caramel Macchiato and Pumpkin Spice Chai
The Caramel Macchiato is delicious! It’s not too sweet and the caramel adds a salty flavour so it really complements the coffee taste. Served with foam on top and caramel drizzle, it looks exquisite, but only for a minute, until the caramel sinks down through the layer of foam…mmm.

The Pumpkin Spice Chai is ideal for the chai lover. We know that seems obvious, but we have to say that adding pumpkin spice to a fan favourite turned out to be a really good idea! The pumpkin flavour is subtle and doesn’t take away from the classic chai latte you love, it simply adds a bit of spice. Served with foam on top and some pretty latte art if you’re lucky.

Second Cup
We tried: White Hot Chocolate and Pumpkin Spice Latte

If you have a sweet tooth, the White Hot Chocolate will hit the spot! A fabulous twist on the classic hot cocoa, this drink is the afternoon pick-me-up that you need. Served with whipped cream and chocolate dusted on top it even looks like dessert.

This drink is a fall staple for a reason! It’s a Pumpkin Spice Latte served with fluffy foam and aromatic cinnamon on top. For the coffee-lover who wants to celebrate the season, this drink is for you. The pumpkin flavour is light and doesn’t overpower that java taste you love.
Word to the wise – if you can’t decide, Second Cup also makes a Pumpkin Spice White Hot Chocolate. Best of both worlds!

Tim Horton’s
We tried: Pumpkin Spice Latte (hot) and Pumpkin Spice Latte (iced)
The hot Pumpkin Spice Latte from Tim’s is a dessert drink. Topped with thick whipped cream and pumpkin drizzle it looks as yummy as it tastes. Of all the drinks we tasted (hard work- but someone’s gotta do it!) this one’s the sweetest.
Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte is an easy favourite among the taste-testers. It ticks all the boxes. It’s a perfect balance of sweetness and pumpkin flavour. You can taste the cinnamon and nutmeg, which really adds to the drinking experience. Don’t let that craving pass you by, get one for yourself!

Eve Café (in Simons)
We tried: Golden Milk Tea and Pumpkin Spice Latte

Calling all turmeric latte fans! The Golden Milk Tea offers a strong-flavour and comfort on those rainy days. It’s made with turmeric, cardamom, ginger, honey and oat milk. Oat milk is the new trend in dairy-free lattes because it foams better than almond milk does. This drink is a great, caffeine-free, alternative to the fall classics and with a strong following from the health-conscious, it’s sure to stick around!

This Pumpkin Spice Latte has got the taste bang-on! With ingredients like organic pumpkin puree, vanilla extract and freshly ground black pepper it’s a natural take on the standard fall beverage. Topped with whipped cream and pumpkin spice drizzle, it hits the spot with flavour without the added sweetness and gets big marks for presentation.
